Emoji Meaning

A strip of film, as used in a movie camera or photography. Generally depicted as several horizontal frames of unexposed film with black trim and perforations.

Commonly used for various content concerning movies, film, video, and photography as well as an icon for a video or picture, as before an upload, link, or credit.

Apple’s design features an S-shaped, sepia-tinged strip.

Film Frames was approved as part of Unicode 7.0 in 2014 and added to Emoji 1.0 in 2015.
