Emoji Meaning

An ancient scroll, unrolled to reveal text on papyrus or parchment paper. May be used to represent the study of history or official documents, such as a diploma.

Many platforms indicate text with dark lines. WhatsApp’s design includes wooden rollers. Apple’s design features an easter egg, script of text from its 1997–2002 Crazy Ones/Think Different ad campaign:

Scroll was approved as part of Unicode 6.0 in 2010 and added to Emoji 1.0 in 2015.
